NAC-D Software Release v1.0.04.00

Published July 23, 2026 · Version 1.0 · To customers of Simrad®

Navico Group is pleased to announce the release of a new software version for the NAC-D Electronic Vessel Control Autopilot Computer. Software release V1.0.04.00 offers the following key performance improvements.

Key Improvements

  1. Fixed an issue where unusual conditions could cause spurious transmissions of PGNs after receiving a Global ISO address claim request. This caused a high bus load with increased fast packet errors and could lead to devices losing visibility on the NMEA 2000® bus.
  2. Added a minor change where the rudder data missing alert is no longer raised when the autopilot is in standby.

Update Procedure

  1. Connect the MFD to the internet by selecting a valid WiFi network under Settings > Connectivity > Wifi.
  2. Select software updates from Settings > General > Software Updates.
  3. You should see the NAC-D 1.0.04.00 update listed. Tap Download update.
  4. When downloaded, tap Install now.
  5. The device will show the update progress. When complete, a message will read “Device update successful.” Select Finish.

  3. Save the file to a micro-SD card and insert it into the micro-SD slot on the MFD.
  4. Select Storage from the menu on the home page, and select the software file on the microSD.
  5. Select Upgrade and follow the on-screen prompts.
