A sleek, low-profile vertical windlass sized for smaller boats — keeps the foredeck clean while handling rope, chain, or combination rodes with full power up/down control.

Why It's Worth It
The V1 is the entry point into Lewmar's V-Series, built around the same FastFit clamping system as the larger V2 and V3 — the windlass shaft self-aligns to the motor during installation, eliminating the trial-and-error shim fitting that typically makes these installs a two-person job. Cone clutches provide a large braking surface for controlled, precise lowering in manual free-fall mode, and the automatic rope/chain transition means you don't have to think about the switch as the rode pays out.

Use
For rope, chain, or combination rodes — 3-strand or 8-plait rope required. Suitable for most boats from 27 to 37 ft. Typical deck thickness 1" to 2-1/4"; an extended version is available separately for thicker decks. A manual recovery system is available as a separate option for backup anchor retrieval if power is lost. Note: G4, G40, G43, and High Test (HT) chains are equivalent for sizing purposes.
