Description

The Garmin GPSMAP® 1242xsv is a high-performance 12-inch chartplotter and sonar combo designed for serious anglers and boaters who demand advanced navigation and sonar capability in a reliable keyed interface. Featuring a large, sunlight-readable display with an intuitive keypad and multifunction control knob, the unit provides precise control in all sea conditions.

This system includes the GT52-TM™ transducer, delivering powerful Garmin CHIRP traditional sonar, CHIRP ClearVü™ and CHIRP SideVü™ scanning sonar for detailed fish and structure imaging. The unit also supports Panoptix™ and LiveScope™ live sonar systems (transducers sold separately), allowing real-time underwater visualization.

Preloaded Garmin Navionics+™ coastal and inland charts provide detailed mapping with Auto Guidance+™ route planning technology to help navigate waterways efficiently. For enhanced chart detail, the system also supports Garmin Navionics Vision+™ premium mapping.

Wireless connectivity allows seamless integration with the ActiveCaptain® mobile app, providing smart notifications, access to OneChart™, Garmin Quickdraw™ Community data, and software updates. Networking capabilities through Garmin Marine Network, NMEA 2000® and NMEA 0183 allow integration with radar, autopilots, AIS, VHF radios, digital switching and more.

Additional connectivity includes ANT® support for compatible quatix® marine smartwatches, GNX™ Wind instruments and gWind™ Wireless 2 transducers, expanding onboard monitoring and control options.

For Mercury® engine owners, the system can display engine performance data including RPM, fuel flow, temperature and trim when connected through the SmartCraft® Connect gateway.
