Why It's Worth It
The two-speed gearbox gives you a high gear for quick trimming and a low gear (29.2:1 power ratio) for grinding in heavier loads under real tension. The Wavespring self-tailing jaws automatically adapt to a wide range of line diameters, and internally, loads ride on permanently lubricated, smooth-running stainless steel roller bearings that won't seize under high load. The chrome bronze finish gives this version a classic, polished look that's stayed popular with boat builders and owners across generations.

Use
Mounts with 5 x M6 (1/4") countersunk head screws on a 113mm (4-7/16") pitch circle diameter. Lewmar recommends the rope enter the drum at a 5°-10° angle to the winch's base axis — a base wedge may be needed during installation to achieve that angle. The screw-on cap and strip-from-the-top construction let you service internal components without tools or removing the winch from the boat.
