The SSC300 uses a 3-axis rate gyro working alongside a 3-axis accelerometer and 3-axis magnetometer, fused by advanced digital stabilization algorithms, to maintain better than 1.5° accuracy even in dynamic conditions. It updates heading data 10 times per second (adjustable up to 40 times per second), and it continues working accurately through ±45° of roll and pitch — making it equally at home on a heeled-over sailboat or a planing powerboat in a chop.
