Xantrex Freedom X Combox — RV-C Communication Device (808-0822)

A communications bridge that connects Freedom X and XC series inverter/chargers to an RV-C bus — enabling seamless integration with third-party monitoring and control systems, MFDs, and the Freedom X Remote Panel.

Why It's Worth It
The Freedom X and XC inverter/charger families are capable, configurable units — but without a communications bridge, their data stays internal. The Combox changes that: install it between the inverter/charger and the RV-C network, and every compatible controller or display on that bus gains full visibility and control over the inverter — including the ability to configure the transfer relay, monitor battery status, enable or disable the inverter remotely, and receive system alerts. The USB port also lets you load firmware updates and device configurations in the field without a dedicated service tool.

Important Installation Note
The Combox is rated for indoor use only — do not expose to rain, spray, bilge water, or snow. Do not install in compartments containing flammable materials or in locations that require ignition-protected equipment.

Note on NMEA 2000 Version
This is the RV-C version (808-0822). If your vessel uses NMEA 2000 rather than RV-C for display/controller integration, order the NMEA 2000 version (808-0822-01) instead.

Use
Connects to the Freedom X or XC series inverter/charger via its communications port, and to the RV-C bus via RJ45. Only one power source (the Freedom X/XC unit) and one auxiliary device can be connected at a time. CAN network 120-ohm termination may be required at the network ends. Compatible with the Freedom X Bluetooth Remote Panel (with or without Bluetooth).
