Why It's Worth It
Buying an anchor, chain, and rode separately means matching sizes, sourcing a shackle, and either splicing rope to chain yourself or paying someone to do it. This kit skips all of that — Lewmar ships it pre-spliced with their quick-splice rope-to-chain connection, sized and shackled to work together from the start. The aluminum fluke anchor sets fast in sand and mud, the most common bottom types for cruisers, and its T-section flukes are angle-adjustable so it keeps holding as conditions change. It's light enough to handle by hand at 7 lbs, but the large flukes punch above that weight for actual holding power.

Use
A primary anchor for smaller boats or a lightweight secondary anchor for larger ones, combining quick-setting performance in soft bottoms with the abrasion resistance of a chain lead and the locker-friendly stowage of 8-plait rope for the rest of the rode.
