The two-speed gearbox gives you a high gear for quick trimming and a low gear (40.2:1 power ratio) for grinding in heavier loads — meaningfully more mechanical advantage than the 30ST below it. The Wavespring self-tailing jaws automatically adapt to a wide range of line diameters, and Lewmar's design lets you service the winch with no tools: unscrew the top cap by hand to access the drum and center stem. From this size up, a manual-to-electric conversion kit is available if you ever want to upgrade to powered operation without replacing the whole winch.
