Lewmar 140TT Thruster Anode Kit (589150)

A sacrificial zinc anode kit for the Lewmar 140TT bow thruster — protects the bronze hub and surrounding underwater metal components from galvanic corrosion in saltwater.

Why It's Worth It
Galvanic corrosion attacks the most vulnerable metal first — which is exactly what a sacrificial anode is for. The 589150 anode corrodes in place of the thruster's more expensive bronze hub and shaft, protecting them from the electrolytic action that would otherwise eat into those components over time. The large accessible nut makes in-water replacement straightforward at haul-out or even while the boat is still in the water, and the stainless steel sleeve provides optimal retention so the anode stays securely in place through the operating forces of the thruster.

Compatibility Note
This anode kit is for 140TT thrusters fitted with a bronze hub only — composite hub versions of the 140TT (including the 591482 2.0kW and 590003LEW 2.2kW Gen 2) use spline-driven propellers with no anode required. Confirm your thruster's hub material before ordering.

Use
Replace when the anode is heavily wasted, pitted, cracked, loose, or significantly reduced in size. Do not paint the anode — coating it defeats its purpose. Install on a clean, bare metal contact surface. Check at every haul-out.
