Maretron MPower CLMD16-R 16-Channel DC Load Controller Module

A 16-channel solid-state digital power distribution system that replaces an entire mechanical breaker panel — network-controlled switching, PWM dimming, per-channel current monitoring, H-bridge reversing circuits, switch inputs, and tank level monitoring, all in one sealed, ignition-protected enclosure.

Why It's Worth It
A traditional breaker panel does one thing: switch circuits on and off, manually, at the panel. The CLMD16 does all of that and considerably more: all 16 circuits are controllable from anywhere on the NMEA 2000 network (any compatible display, N2KView, or the Real Time Cloud Service remotely), with per-channel current monitoring that detects burnt-out bulbs, overcurrent conditions, and under-current faults automatically. The solid-state Electronic Circuit Breakers (ECBs) reset electronically — no mechanical breaker to flip after a trip — and channels 1-12 support PWM dimming for DC lighting at 200Hz (channels 3-10) or 2kHz (channels 1, 2, 11, 12). The two H-Bridge reversing circuits handle bidirectional loads like trim tabs, passerelles, and engine hatches that need polarity reversal to change direction. Eight switch inputs let you wire traditional physical switches alongside the network control, and three tank level inputs extend the module's reach into vessel monitoring.

Important Configuration Note
The CLMD16 requires initial configuration using a Maretron USB100 or IPG100 connected to a PC running N2KAnalyzer V3 software — it cannot be self-configured from a display alone. Plan for this before installation.

Use
Mounts vertically (connectors from the side) or horizontally (connectors from the bottom) — do not mount with connectors at the top. The Main DC (+) connection uses a 5/16"-18 stud torqued to 30-35 in-lbs; the Main DC (-) uses a #10 stud at 10-15 in-lbs with a minimum 10 AWG wire. Both connections must be protected by appropriately sized fusing/breakers upstream — the CLMD16 maximum is 125A total. Multiple CLMD16 units can share a common feeder so long as individual unit protection doesn't exceed 125A. Dual optically isolated CAN bus connections eliminate ground loop potential and provide redundant network communication.
