A no-moving-parts wind and weather station that puts apparent wind speed, wind direction, air temperature, barometric pressure, and relative humidity on your NMEA 2000 network — no bearings to seize, no cups to break, no bird to knock it out of calibration.

Why It's Worth It
Mechanical anemometers fail in predictable ways: bearings wear, salt and dirt build up, and birds perch on them and bend the cups. The WSO200 eliminates all of that by using six ultrasonic transducers in a delta configuration to measure wind — the same time-of-flight principle used in precision laboratory instruments. It measures accurately under up to 30° of tilt, which matters on a heeled sailboat or a powerboat in a seaway where a conventional anemometer reads high or low depending on angle. The humidity sensor is user-replaceable in the field without tools or returning the unit to a service center — a practical design detail that extends the service life meaningfully in saltwater environments.

Use
Mounts on a standard 1"-14 TPI marine pole mount. Connects directly to the NMEA 2000 network via a single Micro-C connector. When paired with a Maretron SSC300 compass, GPS200, and DST110 triducer, it calculates true wind speed and direction in addition to apparent — and feeds dew point and wind chill factor to compatible displays. Configurable wind damping period (factory default 1.5 seconds) lets you tune the output for smoother or more responsive readings. NMEA 2000 cable sold separately.
