Maretron PT-SNUB-01 Pressure Snubber (FPM100 Accessory)

A small but critical protective fitting that installs between a pressure source and a Maretron FPM100 pressure transducer — dampening spikes and surges before they can damage the sensor.

Why It's Worth It
Pressure transducers are rated to 2.5x their maximum measurement pressure before permanent damage occurs — a 0-3 PSI sensor dies at 7.5 PSI. In real-world marine systems, pressure spikes from pumps, engines, or hydraulic systems easily exceed that. The PT-SNUB-01 sits in between, using a sintered stainless steel filter disc to slow the rate at which pressure changes reach the transducer — smoothing out pulsations for cleaner readings and absorbing spikes before they reach the sensor. It also prevents debris from collecting in the transducer's diaphragm opening, which is a common cause of fouling and drift over time.

Use
Install the PT-SNUB-01 onto the 1/4" NPT female fitting on the system or tank being monitored first, then thread the FPM100 pressure transducer into the female port on the snubber. Maximum installation torque: 150 in-lbs (16.95 Nm). Required when monitoring systems where pressure spikes or transients are likely, or where pressure may exceed the transducer's rated maximum — engine oil, hydraulic systems, fuel, and pumped water circuits are the most common use cases. Periodic back-flushing with commercial-grade solvents is recommended after long-term use to keep the filter disc clear.
